Guests at the exclusive Shinagawa Prince Hotel in Tokyo will soon see Relay zipping around the halls delivering packages, food, and other items directly to their rooms.

Savioke partner, NESIC, announced that it is deploying a Relay robot in the luxury Shinagawa Prince Hotel starting in October, marking Savioke’s first official Relay installation in a Japanese hotel.

Japan represents a great opportunity for Relay and we expect to announce more regional deployments in the upcoming months, not only in hotels, but logistics, high-rise residences, and office buildings, as well.  Earlier this year, Savioke partnered with NEC Networks & System Integration Corp. (NESIC), the leading systems integrator in Japan, to distribute Relay in the Japanese market.

The Shinagawa Prince hotel is a large hotel just a few minutes walk from Tokyo Shinagawa station. The hotel complex offers myriad business and leisure amenities, such as a pool, indoor golf and tennis courts, a bowling alley, multiple restaurants, cafes, an onsite childcare facility, meeting rooms, and a karaoke bar. The hotel also offers direct access to a shopping mall, aquarium, multi-screen movie theater, and concert venue. Now, the Shinagawa Prince Hotel can add a delivery robot to its long list of guest services.

New Relay Interfaces Significantly Expand and Improve Capabilities and Services

This week at the HITEC conference in Toronto, Savioke is announcing and demonstrating RelayNow and RelayAPI, two new interfaces that provide our customers with advanced access to Relay’s services and simple integration with external applications and software.

RelayNow is a transparent, easy-to-use mobile and web-based interface that revolutionizes the dispatch and tracking of one or multiple deliveries. It provides users with significantly broader access to Relay’s services while increasing efficiency of deliveries. With RelayNow, hotel staff can manage multiple deliveries at once, queuing them in any order, and track Relay’s progress as he makes stops. RelayNow can be used for one or multiple robots, enabling large properties to deploy many robots simultaneously and manage and visually track all their sequential deliveries from a smartphone or desktop.

RelayAPI allows customers to expand the use of Relay through close integration with a wide variety of applications -- from concierge software and optimization systems, to food delivery apps and rewards programs. RelayAPI is already in use in several hotels including the Aloft Silicon Valley, where Relay delivers room service and other items to guest rooms via integration with a third-party meal delivery service called SendBot.

The Savioke team will share more details about these new interfaces at booth #545 at HITEC, the world’s largest hospitality technology conference and exhibition. This is our third year exhibiting at HITEC and we continue to experience extraordinary growth. Relay is now installed or in contract at over 70 hotels and has made over 125,000 successful deliveries. With the launch of RelayNow and RelayAPI, we expect Relay to reach new milestones quickly.
