Four months into 2017 and our Relay robot has hit two major milestones -- exceeding 100,000 successful deliveries and achieving the equivalent of 30 “robot years” of paid service working alongside people to make their lives easier.
Since our first hotel launch in August 2014, Relay has continued to gain momentum and is now in use or being deployed in over 50 properties around the world including California, New York, Chicago, Florida, and Singapore. Relay is also making rounds in high-rises, starting with Crescent Heights’ 10,000 luxury residences in Beverly Hills and moving into an office building in Dubai.
In another very exciting April development, Savioke announced our partnership with innovation giant FedEx, which is using seven Relay robots at its TechConnect repair facility in Collierville, Tennessee. Relay robots have already completed tens of thousands of deliveries and traveled over 1,000 miles through TechConnect, carrying parts to technicians repairing business communication equipment. In addition, FedEx is testing a Relay robot in a FedEx Kinko’s store in Manhattan, and investigating new ways to integrate Relay robots into its logistics, retail, and office facilities.
Along with broader expansion within the US, Savioke is now gearing up to announce Relay robot installations in new global markets. With distribution partnerships in Japan and Europe, Savioke is growing internationally and we will announce our first deployment in Europe later this month.
